Man & Nature
PHOTO CONTEST
Four young photographers from the Italian Institute of Photography worked across the country to document the relationship between man, industry, cities and trees. The result is over 100 highly sophisticated and emotionally-charged images.
Mauro Mercandelli has translated into images the concept of Biophilia, i.e. the innate human instinct to connect with nature, especially with plants and its highest expression: the forest.
Andrea Calvaruso has created photographic diptychs to highlight how apparently very distant worlds such as industry and nature have very similar shapes, details and conceptual references.
Nicola Cordì went back to Milan’s Parco Nord where Foresta Pilot was created and used his photography to illustrate how man and nature intermingle and how nature blends with the city that surrounds it.
Simon Fiorentino documented the absorbed and meditative dialogue that occurs between the city of Milan and its public parks. Green “lungs” and places where architecture is still full of itself, i.e. an expression of its style and not a functional building for carrying out everyday urban activities.
